About the Journal
Peer Review Process:
Since the CLW is published annually in the Fall (with its presentation at the annual VAL symposium), the following timeline is followed: In March following the symposium, the editor-in-chief receives all articles and contacts at least two external reviewers. The goal is for the thematic dossiers to be reviewed in full by two reviewers, although in some cases a reviewer may assess an individual article. Authors and editors receive a review report indicating whether the articles (a) are accepted, (b) are accepted with minor revisions, (c) need to undergo a second review process after substantial revisions, or (d) are rejected. The editor-in-chief compiles the reviewers’ feedback as constructively as possible for the authors and editorial team.
Objectives and Scope:
The Cahier voor Literatuurwetenschap is an annual publication consisting of four sections:
- A thematic dossier curated by a guest editorial team that changes annually. The dossier primarily collects contributions from the annual VAL symposium, supplemented with other relevant articles.
- Several open submissions outside the thematic dossier.
- The section “Het veld” (The Field), which features concise introductions to (new) methodological and/or theoretical directions in literary studies. Suggestions for such articles are always welcome and can be submitted to the editor-in-chief.
- The section “Plisa” (Platform for Literature and Society), highlighting a current valorization project in literary studies. Suggestions for these articles are welcome and can be directed to Plisa editor Lars Bernaerts.
Audience:
The publication is aimed at scholars in literary, cultural, and translation studies, as well as literature students and enthusiasts.
